Weekly update

Over the past few weeks, your local officers PC Latter and PC Cartwright have been busy working across the community to keep our villages safe and address residents’ concerns.

Road safety has remained a priority, and officers have carried out a number of speed enforcement checks across Matfield, Brenchley, and Lamberhurst. These checks not only resulted in enforcement action where necessary, but also provided valuable opportunities to engage with motorists, offering advice and raising awareness around safe and considerate driving.

In response to concerns raised by local residents, we have also been focusing on parking issues within Lamberhurst. A number of advisory posters have been placed in key locations, and individual notices have been issued to vehicles identified as being parked inconsiderately or dangerously. We hope these measures will encourage more mindful parking and improve safety and accessibility for everyone.

Working in partnership with the local council, officers have taken action in Goudhurst to address ongoing anti-social behaviour. Two Community Protection Notices have been issued to individuals whose behaviour was having a negative impact on the community. We will continue to monitor the situation and take further action where required to support residents.

It’s not all enforcement though! On Saturday 6th, officers attended the Horsmonden Fete, bringing along the police riot van – which proved to be a real hit with visitors of all ages. Despite the challenging weather, the event was a great success and provided a fantastic opportunity to meet members of the community, answer questions, and engage in a more relaxed setting.
